For the treatment of the bleeding woman, who according to tradition was called Veronica, the reader can read in the Gospel according to Matthew 9: 20-22, in Mark 5: 25-34 and in Luke chapter 7 pp. 43-49.

The Synaxarist of Agios Nikodemos of Mount Athos states that this saint came from the city of Paneada. When the Lord healed her from the disease of bleeding, she, in order to please Him, made His statue and erected it in front of her house to be worshiped by all. In fact, at the base of the statue, grew an herb that cured various diseases. Veronica later became a member of the first Church, and after living a holy life, she peacefully surrendered her spirit.
It celebrates on the 12th of July every year.
